Module Design & ToT for Enterprise Development

Since 2001 Islamic Relief is working to promote sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities to eradicate poverty, illiteracy and diseases. Enterprise development and entrepreneurship promotion is one of the key sub-thematic focus under food security and livelihood domain. Considering Enterprise development as one of the focus for IRP across Pakistan, Mera Maan was contracted to design an initiative that would enable IRP staff to replicate a module within communities and build the capacity of community in relevant field; the project activities included the following:

  • To understand the knowledge, skills and attitude required by members of the IRP community so it is possible to put together a training package that can inspire, guide and support them so that they are able to transition their subsistence livelihoods to a more sustaining and growth-oriented enterprise;
  • To create an enterprise module (trainer’s manual and participant handbook) that integrates micro and small enterprise concepts to the Gender Action Learning System (GALS) methodology for individual and family livelihood investment planning.
  • To conduct a 4-day ‘train the trainer’ workshop with selected IRP staff.
