Let Girls Learn – Pathways to Success Implementing training on Work Readiness and Life Skills and Entrepreneurship Development for Adolescent Girls

Development of two capacity development courses for 1400 girls aged 13-19 years in Peshawar to develop their skills, improve their knowledge, attitudes, confidence and awareness. Under this project, Let Girls Learn – Pathways to Success, Mera Maan Pvt Limited was contracted by Peace Education and Development Foundation (PEAD) to design, develop and implement interactive modules as follows:
- Work Readiness & Life Skills for 1400 Adolescent Girls ages 13-19 from marginalized communities in Peshawar District. The course included modules on building confidence and increasing motivation, professional CV development, cover letter, job applications, interviewing and workplace behavior, basic financial skills, digitalized business development & social media, and life skills (including modules on leadership skills, girls/women’s rights and civic responsibility, basic hygiene and sanitation, communication skills, stress management & conflict resolution).
- Entrepreneurship Development Training for 300 female youth graduates from TVET institutions, including inspiring girls towards business, identifying and screening ideas, feasibility study, market survey, 6Ps of marketing, business plan development, bookkeeping and accounts, profit and loss statement.
The project objective was to provide targeted adolescent girls with enhanced skills and opportunities for successful careers and enriched lives. At the individual level the aim was to enhance the capacity of the girls so that they could make decisions about their own life and act on them to achieve a desired outcome. At the community level this project aimed to boost shared prosperity.
