Synopsis:
Mera Maan was contracted by UNDP Pakistan to design a capacity-building module aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of 5000 members (literate, semi-literate, and non-literate) of Village and Neighborhood Councils (VC/NCs) in the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The goal was to equip these council members with essential communication and leadership skills to improve their performance and effectiveness in their respective roles.

Background:
In the context of the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the capacity-building initiative aimed to empower members of Village and Neighborhood Councils, enabling them to actively contribute to local governance and community development. By providing tailored training to diverse groups of council members, the project aimed to enhance their capabilities and promote participatory decision-making processes.
Objectives:
– Enhance the skills and knowledge of VC/NC members in the newly merged districts.
– Foster a high level of participation and engagement through experiential activities.
– Create a visualized participant handbook aligned with the Rules of Business, containing key messages on communication and leadership.
– Develop session plans and assessment tools for effective training delivery.
– Train trainers to facilitate the rollout of the training program.
Project Impact:
The capacity-building module designed by Mera Maan aimed to have a significant impact on the performance and effectiveness of 5000 VC/NC members in the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
