Synopsis:
Pehli Kiran Schools (PKS) is an organization dedicated to providing quality education and transforming the lives of underprivileged children in Pakistan through its ‘mobile school’ model. Recognizing the impact of malnutrition on students’ learning abilities, PKS commissioned Mera Maan to implement a nutrition program aimed at addressing this challenge. Over the years, the program has provided fruit and milk to students, and recently, a new initiative was launched to offer a substantial breakfast to 600 students.Narrative of the Project Description:
Background:
PKS was established in 1995 with a focus on providing education to street children. With the support of donors, the organization has grown to operate 10 community schools, enrolling over 4,300 students and impacting more than 15,000 lives in total. However, malnutrition among students remained a significant obstacle to their academic progress.Objectives:
– Address the issue of malnutrition among students at PKS and improve their overall well-being and academic performance.– Provide daily nutrition support to students, ensuring they start their school day well-nourished and ready to learn.
