Training of Teachers for ‘Sparking Economic Empowerment through Information, Communication & Technology (ICT)

Synopsis:

Mera Maan enabled 32 teachers to build their students’ capacity for entrepreneurship and work readiness through the project “Training of Teachers for ‘Sparking Economic Empowerment through Information, Communication & Technology (ICT).’ The initiative focused on mainstreaming digital tools and financial literacy for employment and the business cycle stages.


Narrative of the Project Description:

Background:

Mera Maan Private Limited executed the project “Training of Teachers for ‘Sparking Economic Empowerment through Information, Communication & Technology (ICT),’ empowering 32 teachers from Women’s Education Centers and Government Schools. The initiative aimed to build students’ capacity for entrepreneurship and work readiness through mainstreaming digital tools and financial literacy within the business cycle stages.

Objectives:

– Conduct a comprehensive Training Needs Assessment (TNA) to identify specific skill gaps and requirements of the selected teachers.
– Develop an inspirational training module titled ‘Sparking Economic Empowerment through ICT,’ focusing on digital tools and financial literacy for employment and the business cycle stages (opportunity identification, resource mobilization, business management, and growth).
– Organize a 3-day Training of Trainers (ToT) workshop to equip teachers with the expertise to mentor students in setting up businesses using IT tools.

Project Impact:

The successful implementation of the project resulted in teachers who are now equipped to enable their students for entrepreneurship and work readiness using ICT. The project’s focus on mainstreaming digital tools and financial literacy across the business cycle stages contributed to gender equality and income security.
